Expertise:

GITI staff are experts in information processing, software development, and systems engineering, with backgrounds in computer science, engineering, mathematics, and operations research. Our research areas include machine learning, modeling for capturing users interests and context, policy management using ontology and semantic interoperability, agents for overcoming barriers to collaboration, knowledge-based reasoning systems, and information security. We form multi-disciplinary teams consisting of GITI staff and world-class researchers from academia to provide the best value and highest quality of research and solutions.

Our software architecture and development teams have extensive hands-on practical experience designing and developing distributed information systems. We have significant experience with developing custom applications using J2EE, Web Services, and JXTA.

We offer unique capabilities in transforming research projects from academia into user centric capabilities that can be transitioned and deployed in the real world. We have transitioned research projects into DoD communities and commercial products. Summary of Key Services:

• Research and development of advanced information processing and visualization concepts. We focus on applying advanced artificial intelligent techniques and the use of intelligent software agents to significantly enhance C4ISR integration and interoperability, knowledge management, information sharing, and collaboration for our customers. We specialize in research that will result in capabilities that can be demonstrated and transitioned into an operational environment.
   
• Developing integration strategies and architectures for the integration of legacy applications. GITI performs trade-off analyses to ensure competing architectures are considered and that the most appropriate option is selected. We have expertise with employing emerging technologies such as J2EE, Web Services, and artificial software agents into an existing environment. We provide services and support for integrating DoD HLA compliant modeling and simulation systems with software agents.
   
• Providing collaborative knowledge management products and services to help our customers attain and maintain competitive advantage. These products and services significantly reduce the cost and effort associated with collecting and organizing enterprise information, and rapidly deliver knowledge to decision makers in a form that is immediately understandable.
